An overdue 2.0 update.

It’s been a while since I actually did the update thing.  Considering that fitness and health are a major part of why I began the Harry 2.0 Project, I suppose I should mention how things are going.  Haven’t done much on the teeth part, since I’ve not taken time and set aside funds for co-pays for dental visits.  Can report that there have been encouraging signs that I might one day coax my scalp into yielding more hair again.  On the fitness front, while I still have the annoying flab around the middle and seem stuck in 34 inch jeans, I will have to guess about my fat content, since I’m still hovering in the mid 190s when I get on the scale in just underwear.  The definition of my arms is nice and my legs don’t look too bad, though I would like to burn more of the fat off my thighs.  What really bugs me, though, is the fat around the middle.  It’s hiding what I’ve done for my core over the last 4 years.  I need to do a little more to build up my upper body, but you won’t hear me complain too much.

On the fashion front,  to put it bluntly, I’m stuck in jeans and T shirts.  Granted, I have to wear long pants at work and I have a bunch of uniform pocket T shirts.  So I have a bunch of T shirts in my closet, which a bunch of jeans.  I have invested in a pair of slacks and a couple of white button down shirts that I should get out of the packaging and actually wash.  Will need to pick up some hangers so when I do that, I’ll be able to hang them up like they should be.  Even picked up a couple of ties.  Been years since I’ve worn a tie.

The rest of the list deals with the finances.  At this point, I’m banging away on Baby Step 2.  We can cross HSBC off the list, that would be both balances are now $0.00.  I say both balances, as I got the Mastercard at the same time I got the Best Buy card.  One of the most foolish things I have done.  You’d have thought that I would have learned from the Discover fiasco.  But no.  Normal me ended up with thousands in debt, not even counting the mortgage on the house.  To date, I’ve paid off some 7 grand in debt, since I’ve paid off the balances on the Sears card, the Sears Home Improvement card, the Best Buy card, and since the collections guys were about to sue me, the Mastercard’s $4200.  By this time next year, I’ll have paid off the remainder of the $4000 loan I took out of my TSP fund.  It’ll be paid off in just over 3 and a half years, since I’ve been paying more than minimum on the 5 year amortization.  With that extra every pay period, I’ll be able to attack the CitiFinancial loans and get rid of them.  Then I’ll be able to proceed to Baby Step 3, fully funding the emergency fund.  For the record, do yourself a favor, head over to daveramsey.com and buy yourself a copy of The Total Money Makeover or check it out of your library.  Read it, listen to the podcast of Dave’s radio show (The first hour is free from iTunes look for The Dave Ramsey Show) and let Dave’s ministry heal what has likely been a source of serious stress in your life.  Take control of your money and learn to behave your wage.  Can you tell that I’m on my way to retiring with dignity and I have a guide on the path to prosperity?

So yeah, there’s the update from the list, starting from the top and working down.  The stuff at the bottom of the page is financial in nature and fashion is the middle of the list.  I focus on the body and health first as our body’s are the Temple of God.  We are the handiwork of the Creator and we owe it to Him to care for what He has crafted for us to inhabit during this life.  So love your neighbor as you love yourself and share that love everywhere you go with everyone you meet.  So here’s some loving from me for all of you.  Hugs.
